- Mix Dry Ingredients. Start heating the waffle iron. Melt 5.5 tablespoons(80g) unsalted butter (done most easily in a small bowl in a microwave for 45s-1min). To keep waffles warm until serving, heat oven to 100F(40C) and then turn it off and leave it closed so it will stay warm. Put 2 cups(240g) of all-purpose flour, 4 teaspoons(20g) baking powder, 1 teaspoon(6g) salt, and 2 tablespoons(25g) of sugar in a large bowl and whisk dry ingredients together until combined.
- Add wet ingredients. Add to the dry ingredients: 2 eggs, 1.5 cups(355ml) 2% or whole milk, and the 5.5 tablespoons(80g) melted butter and then whisk together until combined evenly.
- Cook Waffles. Using the batter, cook waffles according to the instructions that come with your waffle maker. For me, this meant using a scant cup(235ml) of batter per each waffle, as shown below. For my waffle maker, 3.5 minutes is a good cook time for each waffle, but yours may be different. As each waffle is finished, add it to a heat safe plate and store it in the warm oven.
- Serve Waffles. Once all waffles are done, take them out of the warm oven and serve hot with syrup.
